‘Kök Hücreler ve Ekstrasellüler Veziküller: Diş Hekimliğinde Kullanılabilir mi?’


She was born in 1972 and she graduated from Hacettepe University, Faculty of Dentistry in 1994 and graduated from Periodontology Department, Faculty of Dentistry, Hacettepe University, Ankara, in 1999. She worked for Hacettepe University from 1995 to 1999. From 1999 to 2000, she worked in USA as a visiting scientist at the University of Michigan via TUBITAK scholar. From 2001 to 2002, she worked in TUBITAK DNA/Cell Bank & Gene Research Laboratory of Hacettepe University as a post-doctorate TUBITAK scholar.

From 2002 to date she has been working for the Faculty of Dentistry of the Selcuk University, Konya-Turkey. She received her Associate Professor Degree in 2006 and Professor Degree in 2011. She is a member of Turkish Society of Periodontology, Turkish Society of Biotechnology, European Federation of Periodontology (EFP), and International Association for Dental Research (IADR), Continental European Division of IADR (CED-IADR), The American Society for Bone and Mineral Research, International Society for Stem Cell Research. She established her cell culture and molecular biology laboratory within the Research Center of Dental Faculty in the Selcuk University with national/international projects. She mainly focused on the regeneration of the periodontal tissues and stem cells functions isolated from oral tissues. She is also interested on the effects of boron in mineralized tissues (bone/tooth), laser in periodontology, implant surface-cell interactions and biocompatibility of dental materials. Her invention titled ‘antibacterial boric acid mouthwash which is non-toxic in cellular level’ was patented by Turkish Patent Institute and Unites States Patent (US 9,616,003 B2). She gave lectures in international/national congress. She has approximately 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals and chapters in one international and two national books. She is currently doing her sabbatical at the University of Michigan, School of Dentistry, Periodontics and Oral Medicine Department as visiting Prof with the project supported by Turkish Scientific Research Council and she is working on the effects of exosomes isolated from stem cells and macrophages on the regeneration of mineralized tissues. Her hobbies are painting, playing Qanun and making jewelry. She run projects to provide scholarship for dental students. To date, 33 dental students were supported for 1 year with her social and scientific projects. She was accepted to well-known art festival/fairs in USA with her paintings.
